SOTD Royal Apothic Noble Carnation – Quick Perfume Review

Royal Apothic Noble Carnation ♀

photo thieved from the Anthropologie website

A couple of weeks ago, I made a quick jaunt to Orlando. While there, I popped into the Mall at Millennia for precisely an hour and a half of perfume shopping. I visited Chanel, Bloomingdales,  Nieman Marcus and Anthropologie. During the whirlwind, I went into Anthro because I remember reading somewhere that they have a good selection of perfumes. What I read was spot on and they do have a nice and surprisingly unique section dedicated to exclusively to fragrance! Have a look at the slideshow below for a peek at some of the other fragrances for sale at Anthropologie. They also have a home fragrance selection that is to die for.

Time was precious that day and I wanted to spend the majority of it in Niemans, so I ran through Anthro’s petite perfume treasure trove. I sniffed all the fragrances pictured in the above slideshow and none touched me like Noble Carnation. I even hopped a little when I sniffed the tester. Ooohhh, spicy and sweet. It caught my attention and I was enchanted. A blind buy ensued.

Noble Carnation is from Royal Apothic’s Conservatory collection which features modern, romantic fragrances inspired by archetypal English florals.

The perfumes starts and ends with a overtone of floating, floral sweetness. Noble Carnation is blended so well that I can’t identify where exactly the sweetness is from. A note listed is currants, but I don’t detect the fruit. I typically run far away from sweet perfumes and oddly I look forward to this perfume for it’s sweetness. What happened to me?

I know what happened, there is an undertone and very distinct spicy clove and cedar. I love cloves so much, you guys. I love clove gum and the way clove cigarettes smell and clove orange spice pomanders filling the house with scent during the Holidays. In the dry down, there is cedar and sandalwood which brings this perfume to a lush richness. This is perfect on a cold day and adds a ray of floral sweetness. I drench myself in this perfume. Seriously, I love it that much. Complete eye roller.

Noble Carnation has a moderate projection that lasts about 2 hours. The longevity on me is 3 to 4 hours and I definitely bring along a travel size during my day to re-apply.

Notes: Blackcurrant, clove, cedar and sandalwood

Southern Personality Group: Shy Violet
