Scent of Tuesday – Quick Perfume Review

Jennifer Lopez Deseo ⚥

The scent of the day or SOTD in perfume speak is Deseo by Jennifer Lopez. What a bottle, huh? I love the muted blue and gold. I admit the bottle shape is awkward for spritzing purposes and I fumble with it for a bit before I can direct my spray. Wow, another celebrity sleeper that is not receiving the amor it deserves. Deseo translates from Spanish to desire and “Yes, please.”

Deseo starts out green and reminds me of Australian pines swaying in the winds of the Bahamas or the Florida Keys. Then it blooms into a musky but soft white floral. This is no big, white floral bomb, but a gentle spray of jasmine, freesia and mimosa. I’ve read that some people smell coconut in Deseo, but I didn’t smell any creamy coconut. This perfume to me is clean to begin and blooms into sensuously, summery flowing, gauzy falling off sundresses at the heart.

I really like Deseo and in my opinion is a celebrity WIN. Deseo stays close and perfect for when you are dreaming of Summer or it IS Summer and you find yourself enjoying a balmy, sensuous jasmine filled evening. In my case, there will be delicious plantains and arroz con pollo somewhere in that tropical scene. If you love tart citrus, white florals and spicy woodiness if your fragrance, then go online and buy this wonderful, celebrity outlier. Also, I think although this skews a little toward the feminine, a man can wear this and smell perfectly masculine and sexy.

Top Notes: Sicilian bergamot, yuzu, flowery freesia notes.
Heart Notes: Star jasmine, pink gardenia, orange blossom and French mimosa.
Base Notes: Musk, sandalwood, amber, oakmoss, atlas cedar and patchouli
Perfumers: Ellen A. Molner and Jim Krivda

Sillage: Moderate
Longevity: 6 to 7 hours

Southern Personality Group: Captivating Cypress
Perfume Rating: Gimme Some Sugar ♥♥♥

Have you worn Deseo? What do you thing about the fragrance? Is it downright gorgeous or gimme some sugar. We would love to hear your opinions and thoughts.
